The number of start-ups is increasing every year. By the end of January 2018, their number increased by 19.6% per year and amounted to almost 42 thousand. Last year, the business register of Kazakhstan recorded 35.1 thousand new small businesses, the annual growth was 6.9%، according to Ranking.
The share of start-ups from existing small businesses is also increasing - from 15.3% to 16.7% for the year. The number of small active companies in the last year grew only by 8%، a year earlier - by 7.1%.
More than a third of new small companies account for wholesale and retail trade, as well as repair of cars and motorcycles (33.7%). A year earlier, their share was 27%. Growth for the year was 49.5%.
Next comes the construction industry - 4.6 thousand small enterprises, which is 4% less than in January 2017. The share for the year decreased from 13.7 to 11%.
Closes the top three branches with the largest number of start-ups, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.2 thousand companies, an increase over the year by 35.6%. The share of the industry increased from 4.5 to 5.1%.
Among the regions of Kazakhstan more than half of the not yet active, new small companies fall to Almaty and Astana.
The only region where the number of new small companies has decreased over the year is the Karaganda region (minus 3.3%). The share of the RK decreased from 6.3% to 5.1%.
