Early presidential elections in Kazakhstan held on June 9. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won the presidential eletion with 70,76% of the vote.

However, Kazakhstani people do not agree with results of presidential elections. Dozens of protesters held a a rally on June 9-10 in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent.
On June 9, the day of the early presidential elections, hundreds of people gathered at the Astana Square and the Aliya-Manshuk Park in Almaty to protest. Gathered people shouted that "police protects people", "the police together with the people". However, the police detained dozens of people and dragged protesters onto special cars. As a result, it was reported that about 500 people were detained on protest day in Kazakhstan on June 9.
