Dozens of mothers gathered on Monday, June 3, in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan. First, they gathered at the Akorda building, and then the parliament calling on the authorities to solve the housing problem and improve the social situation of large families.
The participants demanded that Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Askar Mamin come out to them. They shouted: "Housing for our children!", "Yelbasy!", "Tokayev!". Then they were met by Deputy Prime Minister Gulshara Abdykhalykova and Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Berdibek Saparbayev. They said they are ready to consider the issues of mothers.
In turn, the participants of the action stated that the program proposed by the government for providing large families with housing is ineffective. Their income is not enough to purchase housing, so they believe that housing should be provided without a down payment and bank fees.
Recall, it should be noted that this is not the first meeting of large families in the Kazakh capital. So, on May 16, about 40 mothers of many children gathered 200 meters from the congress center building, where a plenary session of the Astana Economic Forum was held with the participation of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the current head of state, Kassym Jomart Tokayev. They also shouted "Housing for our children!" and demanded a meeting with the leadership of the country.
