Uzbek officials, who will not provide adequate service to media representatives, to be punished. This was said by the Director of the Information and Mass Media Agency under the Uzbek Presidential Administration, Komil Allamzhonov at the roundtable on March 5.

"Uzbek officials, who will not provide adequate service to media representatives, to be punished", - noted the head of agency.

According to him, the press service of the Uzbek ministries and departments is not working properly.

"The role of the press secretary is not interesting for many people, that is why there are a lot of vacancies in the ministries and agencie.  And the role of press secretaries is not observed in implementing the information policy", - mentioned Komil Allomzhanov.

Komil Allamzhonov, as Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications, promised to regulate the work of the mass media and give them the status of "the Fourth Estate".

In addition, as we can see, the situation in the neighboring state is not surprising to the Kazakh mass media. It is difficult to get timely information from state agencies and agencies in Kazakhstan too. It is necessary to send a written letter and wait at least one week to get the answer.

Moreover, it should be noted that at the beginning of the year the Ministry of Information and Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan prepared a draft law on amendments to media accreditation rules. According to journalists, the amendments to the draft law contradict the Constitution and the media law and restrict freedom of speech. For example, journalists may lose accreditation if they ask the speakers "inconvenient" questions.
