The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov met with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov. During the meeting, political and economic issues were discussed, reports the press service of Kazakh MFA.
“Uzbekistan is our brotherly country, a key political and economic partner in the region", - noted the Kazakh Foreign Minister.
The priority for the foreign ministries should be to fully implement the agreements reached by Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev focused on the comprehensive strengthening of bilateral cooperation. In 2018, bilateral trade grew by over 25 percent and amounted to 2,5 billion USD.
In addition, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of proper preparation of upcoming events at the highest level, primarily the second Working (Consultative) Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States in Tashkent, as well as the solemn launch of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.
