More than two thousand ethnic Kazakhs will be able to leave China for Kazakhstan. This was announced on December 10 by Aibek Smadiyarov, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
According to him, Kazakh people who are citizens of China and Kazakhstan can come to Kazakhstan.
"The Chinese side has gave permission for more than two thousand Kazakhs to leave the territory of China. One thing should be noted that they are not detained Kazakhs, they are Kazakhs could not come to Kazakhstan before", - noted Aibek Smadiyarov.
As stated by him, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry together with the Chinese side is figuring out which documents need to be issued to people traveling to Kazakhstan and under what circumstances they got a dual citizenship.
Information about pressure on ethnic minorities in China, including the Kazakhs, has been informed since 2017. Kazakhs-migrants from China repeatedly appealed to Astana with a request to intervene in the situation and help rescue their relatives from custody.
Recall, it should be noted that in the past few months, China has been under the scrutiny of the international community in connection with reports of the oppression of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang and their forced placement in institutions that Beijing calls "educational centers", and human rights activists "political re-education camps". According to various data, they have more than a million people.
