KazNU entered top 200 Eco-Friendly Universities in the world, reports the press service of KazNU.
According to the study of the global rating «UI Green Metric Ranking of World Universities», Al-Farabi KazNU has strengthened its position in the top 200 most environmentally friendly Universities in the world. Compared to last year, Kazakhstan's University has risen 16 places in this prestigious and authoritative ranking 172 among 700 HEIs from 78 countries.
The rating shows a real picture of the development of «green» technologies and environmental policies in higher education institutions and evaluates them according to such criteria as infrastructure development, waste storage and processing, rational use of water and energy, use of environmentally friendly transport, educational and scientific activities in the field of ecology, green space on campus. It should be noted that KazNU is significantly ahead of other Kazakhstani Universities in this ranking.
In addition, KazNU, leading the Global Hub of the United Nations Academic Impact Program on Sustainable Development, in order to put the global idea of President N. Nazarbayev «Green Bridge» into practice, initiated the international partnership project «Green Bridge Through Generations» and the creation of a Consortium of Universities of the world to implement it. Training of specialists in sustainable development and «green economy» is carried out in close integration with the MDP «Global Classroom», opened jointly with Columbia University.
