The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will provide Tajikistan $ 80.3 million for the implementation of two social projects and will provide technical assistance in the development of a feasibility study of another project, reports Asia Plus.
Social projects for which IDB allocates money will be implemented in the Khatlon region, in the south of the republic. One of them is improving the water supply to residents of the area. The amount of financing in this area will be $ 53.50 million.
Another project for which funds are allocated is “Improving the Health of Mothers, Newborns and Children” in four districts of Khatlon. The medical facilities will be substantially modernized: they will install modern equipment in the first-aid posts, and advanced training seminars will be held for medical workers. The total investment is $ 26.87 million.
