The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) ranks Kazakhstan 70th among 129 nations in its latest Global Innovation Index (GII), reports Asia Plus.
Only three Central Asia’s nations were put on the GII list: Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Kazakhstan is ranked 100th and Kyrgyzstan is ranked 90th.
WIPO named Switzerland as the world’s most innovative country. Switzerland is by Sweden, the United States of America, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, according to the 2019 edition of the Global Innovation Index (GII).
Each year the GII presents a thematic component that tracks global innovation. The GII 2019 special theme analyzes the medical innovation landscape of the next decade, looking at how technological and non-technological medical innovation will transform the delivery of healthcare worldwide.
The Global Innovation Index 2019 provides detailed metrics about the innovation performance of 129 countries and economies around the world. Its 80 indicators explore a broad vision of innovation, including political environment, education, infrastructure and business sophistication. It also explores the role and dynamics of medical innovation as it shapes the future of healthcare, and the potential influence this may have on economic growth.
