In the first quarter of 2019, the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan increased by 42% compared to the same period last year, reports the State Committee for Tourism Development.
In absolute figures, 1.3 million people visited Uzbekistan and in the first quarter of last year, 972,000.
Most tourists came from Russia and Turkey. Among other countries for which Uzbekistan is a popular tourist destination are China, Korea and Afghanistan. Most come to Uzbekistan for 1-3 days.
In addition, it is planned that about 6 million tourists will visit Uzbekistan in 2019.
