The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has allocated a grant of 19,5 million dollars to Uzbekistan to support education reform. Information about the grant is posted on the US government website grants.gov.

“The grant will support the ambitious efforts of Uzbekistan to reform and modernize the educational sector and meet the country's need for human capital with high-quality basic education. During the implementation of the grant, scientific, technological and innovative approaches will be used, as well as interaction with various partners, including organizations of higher education”, says in the grant’s description.

The funds will be used to transform the school management model, change the way teachers are trained, and develop educational materials. In addition, the money will be spent to improve the administration of educational institutions and the provision of educational services.
