Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will create an International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation at the joint border. The agreement on this was reached during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan, reports the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.
"The implementation of this project will help streamline cross-border trade, improve the access control infrastructure, and create a large trade and logistics hub in the region", - said Tokayev to reporters after talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The new center will be called "Central Asia". It is expected that the creation of the hub will help bring the trade between countries by the end of 2020 at the level of $ 5 billion, now it is $ 3 billion.
