The Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part in the United Nations Security Council open debate entitled “Combating the Financing of Terrorism” that took place at the UN Headquarters in New York, reports Asia plus.
In his statement, Muhriddin reportedly underlined the efforts taken by the Government of Tajikistan to counter the international terrorism, transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking and others.
Tajik foreign minister noted that Tajikistan approved the National Concept on Countering Money-Laundering and Financing of Terrorism for 2018-2025, and the Plan for its implementation adopted by the Decree of the President on March 5, 2018.
Muhriddin called upon the representatives of the UN member nations to take an active part in the High-Level Conference on “International and Regional Cooperation on Countering Terrorism and Its Financing through Illicit Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime” that will be held in the Tajik capital from May 16-17 this year.
