Official status of the Russian language will be preserved in Kyrgyzstan. The President of the country Sooronbai Jeenbekov stated at the first forum of rectors of higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic and Russia "Development of Science and Education — Investment in the Future", reports 24kg.
"I want to stress once again that the Russian language has and will always have the status of an official language in Kyrgyzstan", - said the president of Kyrgyzstan.
Moreover, the head of Kyrgyzstan offered the Russian scientific intelligentsia to cooperate in such areas as alternative energy and hydropower, water and mountain research, highland medicine, phytochemical studies of medicinal flora, or in production of bio seeds and food products.
In addition, it should be noted that in January of this year Kyrgyz activists suggested removing the Russian language. According to the activists, there are should be a full parliamentary system in Kyrgyzstan and the law should not be translated into Russian at the time of its adoption. For this purpose it is necessary to exclude the status of "official language" for the Russian language. In addition, the activists also noted that they will collect 10,000 signatures in autumn for holding a referendum.
Recall, it should be noted that on March 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin will have an official visit to Kyrgyzstan. At least 30 documents are expected to be signed as a part of Vladimir Putin’s state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
