The foreign affairs agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea held the 5th round of Consultations on consular issues, reports the press service of Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The Kazakhstan delegation was headed by Tauboldy Umbetbaev, Director of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, and the Korean side by the Director General of the Bureau for Foreign Koreans and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, Vu In Shik. The event was also attended by representatives of the competent authorities of the two countries.

During the consultations, the parties discussed topical issues of consular relations. In particular, the issues of denying entry to Korea to citizens of Kazakhstan, preventing illegal migration and ways to solve them, protecting the rights of citizens of the two countries, expanding the legal framework and other relevant issues were raised.

Following the consultations, the parties exchanged memoranda.
