On January 11, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov, reports the press service of Uzbek government.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the ministers focused on priority areas for further deepening relations between the two countries in 2019 and for the future in political, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.
In addition, the interest of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in development of cooperation on a long-term and mutually beneficial basis was confirmed. As it was noted during the meeting, over the 11 months of 2018, the trade turnover grew by 55% compared to the same period in 2017 and amounted to 363 million USD.
The ministers also exchanged views on issues of the agenda of the first meeting of India – Central Asia Dialogue with participation of Afghanistan, which will be held in Samarkand on January 12-13.
