Kazakhstan has become an authoritarian state again as a result of the study of the British "Economist Intelligence Unit" research group.
According to the research group of the EIU, which annually publishes the annual Index of Democracy in the world, Kazakhstan scored only 2,94 points out of 10 and ranks 144th out of 167 countries. Moreover, other post-Soviet countries such as Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan also have repeatedly become authoritarian states.
In addition, Moldova (79), Georgia (89), Ukraine (84), Kyrgyzstan (98) and Armenia (103) were the "hybrid states" in the index.
Furthermore, countries like Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Canada are on the list of the most democracy countries in 2018. The United States ranks 25th on the list of countries where democracy has begun to weaken. Moreover, post-Soviet states like Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are among this list.
