In Bishkek, activists of the "Kyrgyz Choroloru" organisation picketed the in front of the Chinese embassy and demanded that the illegal foreigners be expelled from the country in 30 days.
According to Kyrgyz Service of Azattyk, about 200 people gathered on December 20. The organizers of the action stated that the state bodies should determine the number of foreigners illegally living and that they should form a joint commission with representatives of the public to remove them from the country. Members of the organization stated that they would deal with the expulsion of aliens illegally, if this requirement was not met.
The Kyrgyz people are protesting in front of the Chinese embassy in Bishkek. The gathered demand the release of Kyrgyz people from "re-education camps" in China.
Kyrgyzstan's President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at a press conference this week that Bishkek needs to be careful about addressing the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz in China.
It is also worth noting that on November 23 about 10 Kyrgyz and ethnic Kyrgyz from China held a press conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Moreover, kayrylmans from China and relatives of ethnic Kyrgyz in China appealed to Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov. They were asking for help in freeing their relatives from the “re-education camps” in China .
