Last year, Uzbekistan took a number of measures to prevent and combat corruption, and as a result, 1,177 officials who committed such crimes were prosecuted. This was announced at a ceremonial meeting on December 8, devoted to the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reports local media.

“No matter how hard the law enforcement agencies try, without the irreconcilable attitude of our citizens towards this disgusting phenomenon, without effective public control it is impossible to fight corruption effectively. A serious fight against this evil must be waged not only by law enforcement agencies, but also by the public in every team, ”said Shavkat Mirziyayev.

According to him, each state institution should have its own, internal anti-corruption program, the implementation of which will be controlled by the public.
