After three years, the state will no longer deal with cotton, reports the president Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the Khorezm region.

“I will hand over cotton to interested clusters. After two or three years, the state will not engage in cotton. Then cotton will start making profits”, - the press service quoted the president’s words.

In addition, in September of this year, the president held a meeting to accelerate the introduction of clusters in the cotton-textile sector. At this meeting, it was reported that more than half of the areas where cotton was grown were fully integrated into the cluster system.

Moreover, in May, the president said that if a country switches to a cluster system, each cluster will be able to harvest independently, which ultimately will put an end to forced labor.
