More than 160 members of the "Islamic State", "Ansorulloh" and other extremist groups have returned to their homeland in the first 9 months of this year, reports MIA of Tajikistan.
Kudratullo Gulomov, one of the senior advisers to the head of the country's interior ministry, said that, as a result of the events that promoted the return of compatriots to a normal life, 163 former members of the IS, "Salafiya", "Group 24" and "Ansorulloh" returned to the country. They were in foreign countries and the CIS with their families.
In addition, Kudratullo Gulomov also cited the latest statistics about Tajik students studying illegally at the Islamic universities abroad. Thus, within 9 months, 68 young Tajiks were returned to their homeland. According to him, the return of young people who joined the ranks of extremists is part of the ministry’s program to prevent the spread of Islamic radicalism in Tajikistan.
According to him, during the meetings, the population is explained that if the citizens of the country voluntarily return to Tajikistan and repent of the crimes committed and if their actions do not contain signs of a crime, they will be exempted from criminal liability.
Recall, it should be noted that according to the Tajik authorities in September of this year, 1899 citizens of Tajikistan left for Syria and Iraq, where they joined the ranks of the Islamic State.
