Internet users in Tajikistan often complain of low speed or limited access to certain sites. In addition, according to them, sites and social networks are often blocked. Two weeks ago, social networks Facebook and Odnoklassniki, as well as the Youtube portal were blocked in Tajikistan. Authorities also restricted entry to Viber, the What's App and Telegram.
This year Tajikistan adopted amendments to the law “On Combating Terrorism”, as a result of which law enforcement agencies in Tajikistan received the right to restrict telephone communications and access to the Internet throughout the country. These changes provide the right to relevant government agencies to block news sites and restrict freedom of speech in the country at almost any time.
