It is planned to accept a new version of Uzbek alphabet based on the Latin alphabet until the end of 2018, reports national Uzbek news agency.
The special group created by the Tashkent State University of the Uzbek language and literature published project of updated Uzbek alphabet.
Experts note that in the new version of the alphabet, instead of the apostrophes will be used diacritical marks, thus the alphabet will be closer to the alphabets of other Turkic languages and will become more convenient for use.
In addition, the new alphabet will have 30 characters and 28 letters, one letter combination "ng", and also an apostrophe, which denotes a soft sign (Ь) in the letter.
