Nursultan Nazarbayev receives Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek, member of the Board of Directors of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Richard Evans and President of Air Astana Peter Foster, reports the press service of Akorda.

The meeting discussed the development of civil aviation, also the current state and future prospects of Air Astana.

- Air Astana is our main carrier. We created it with Richard Evans. A great work has been done over the years. Today the company has established itself on the good side and has a successful image, - the President noted.

The meeting participants told the President of Kazakhstan about the latest trends in the global airline market. In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev was reported on the work being carried out to introduce elements of the British aviation safety management model.

According to the Minister for Investment and Development, in 2018, in Kazakhstan, flights were launched in 13 directions, and a pilot project of the “open sky” was implemented in Astana.

At the end of the meeting, the President noted the importance of increasing the availability of air transportation services for the population, ordered the creation of a budget airline based on Air Astana, which to provide transportation services at lower tariffs.
