Kazakhstan has attracted more than 12 billion dollars in direct foreign investment over the past six months, reports the Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, Zhenis Kassymbek, at the Government's session today.
"Today Kazakhstan is a leading country in attracting direct investments in Central Asia. Share of Kazakhstan is about 70%. The total volume of investments in fixed capital for 9 months of this year increased by 21,6% and amounted to 7,5 trillion tenge. 41,4% in the mining industry, 37,1% in construction and 26,4% in manufacturing industry", - said the Minister.
According to him, the majority of investments at the republican level belong to Atyrau, Astana and Almaty. The share of private equity investments in the fixed capital for the first 9 months of 2018 amounted to 73,1%, or 5,5 trillion tenge.
"Following the results of the first half of this year, the total volume of direct foreign investments increased by 15,4% and amounted to 12,3 billion dollars. In particular, growth was observed in the following sectors: mining industry - 6,7 billion dollars, trade - 2,0 billion tenge, transport, financial and insurance services, information and communications", - noted Zhenis Kassymbek.
