A ceremony of signing the Code of Conduct for the Achievement of a World Free of Terrorism was held at the UN headquarters. The document was elaborated in September 2015 under the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev within the framework of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, reports official website of the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Kazakhstan.
The solemn ceremony was held in the form of a special high-level event. The Code was signed by foreign ministers and top officials of the 70 countries.
Moreover, the Code was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov. He emphasized that the main goals of the document, in particular, will be to implement a wide range of international counter-terrorism commitments by 2045 and create a global coalition to a world free of terrorism. The Code recognizes the interdependence of security, terrorism and development for the first time and thus promotes the goals of sustainable development.
