Minister of Education of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Kudaiberdieva has been dismissed, reports the press service Kyrgyz President.

The head of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, signed a decree on the resignation of Kudaiberdieva after she submitted a letter of resignation of her own free will. She has served as Minister of Education since 2016.

Kudaiberdiyeva was one of the most criticized ministers in the Kyrgyz government. She was scolded forovercrowded classes and mass layoffs of teachers, but the main scandal surrounding the Ministry of Education was due to the mistakes in school textbooks.

In autumn of last year, the Kyrgyz media found a large number of mistakes in textbooks in various subjects. Both grammatical and factual mistakes were made in the books, some illustrations were used without indicating the sources. Besides, Wikipedia and LiveJournal were indicated as the literature involved in the development of one of the textbooks.
