The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which significantly increase penalties for forced labor.
Previously, in accordance with article 51 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, a fine was imposed in the amount of 1 to 3 minimum wages. Now this amount has been increased from 10 to 30 minimum wages.
The article is also supplemented by a part providing for a fine of 30 to 100 minimum wages for the same offense committed repeatedly within a year after the application of the administrative penalty.
In addition, forcing minors to work for the first time entails a fine of 30-50 minimum wages and 50-100 minimum wages for re-compelling minors to work.
