Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva proposed to create a fund for investigative journalism, where funds to collect from citizens who want to help and help identify corruption.
Ex-President suggested creating an investigative journalism fund in memory of the deceased journalist Ulanbek Egizbayev. She said this in her blog, dedicated to the memory of a young, talented journalist.
"The time for the development of investigative journalism has come. It's time! In the fight against corruption, its importance is paramount. I suggest in this regard to create a fund for investigative journalism. This is a money-box, where funds will be raised from all our citizens who will not only observe the actions of the authorities from outside, but also help to identify all the atrocities that occur before our eyes despite the punishments, "the former president wrote.
She noted that the work of the fund should be transparent, management - under the supervision of the council of independent, respected people, experts.
According to her, the charter, constituent documents of the fund will be discussed in detail with journalists.
