Industrial production in Uzbekistan increased by 6.8% in January-August 2019 compared to the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee of country reports.

“According to preliminary data, in January-August 2019, the republic’s enterprises produced industrial products for 204.1 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the corresponding period of the last year amounted to 106.8%,” the message reads.

At the same time, labor productivity increased by 5.8% compared to the same period in 2018, industrial production per worker employed in industry amounted to 113097.3 thousand soums.

The main factor in the growth of the physical volume of industrial production was growth in the mining industry and quarrying by 2.3%, manufacturing - by 8.4%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 2.2%, water supply , sewage, collection and disposal of waste - by 3.8%.
