About 75% of the funds provided by the state budget of Tajikistan for the development of the health care sector go to the salaries of industry workers, reports Deputy Minister of Health Said Umarzoda, reports «Avesta».

According to her, of the total budget of the health sector, only 4% is spent on the purchase of medicines. Medicines and equipment for medical institutions of the republic are also provided by international organizations.

In particular, their assistance is estimated at more than 69.3 million somoni ($ 7.3 million).

S. Umarova also noted that the salary of healthcare workers ranges from 500 somoni to 2,000 thousand somoni. In addition, the staff of medical institutions receive a premium from revenues from the provision of paid services.

From the state budget of Tajikistan in 2019 over 174 million somoni ($ 18.4 million) will be allocated for the development of the health sector.
