In the global tourism ranking, Kazakhstan ranks 81st, said Timur Duysengaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Kazakh Tourism JSC.
“In the global tourism ranking of the World Economic Forum (WEF), where a lot of parameters are taken into account, Kazakhstan has recently fluctuated from 113 to 61 places and now takes 81st place out of 136 countries,” said Duisengaliyev during the discussion “Tourism industry in Kazakhstan: what's going on? ”.
He is inclined to explain this position of Kazakhstan in the VEF rating by objective and subjective circumstances.
“I consider the openness of the country, infrastructure, and quality standards to be objective circumstances. The subjective circumstance is how much we are willing to work on the result. And, as it seems to me, we are ready to work on it. In May, a national program for the development of domestic and inbound tourism until 2025 was adopted. This is the document that will form a unified approach to the development of the industry. Moreover, this is the first document that is supported by the budget,” he said.
