The explosions in the warehouse of a military unit in Arys began on the morning of June 24th. It was decided to evacuate the whole city. People were taken to Shymkent, located 85 kilometers from Arys, and several nearby villages. Many residents left the city on their own.
As a result of the incident, two people were killed - a soldier of the unit and a local resident, in whose car a shell hit. 165 people were injured.
