As part of the implementation of economic diplomacy, a new system for attracting foreign investment has been created, and it is constantly being improved. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbaev spoke about this and other measures to attract investments during a press conference at the press center of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to him, in 2018, foreign investors created about 6 thousand permanent jobs. Besides, at the end of 2018, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment grew by 15.8% to $ 24.3 billion.
As stated by Kosherbaev, the main investors in 2018 were the Netherlands - 7.3 billion dollars (30.3%), the USA - 5.3 billion (22%), Switzerland - 2.5 billion ( 10.5%), Russia - 1.5 billion (6.2%), China - 1.5 billion (6.1%), Belgium - 1.0 billion (4.3%), France - 0.9 billion (3.8%), Great Britain - 0.6 billion (2.4%) and Korea - 0.5 billion (2%).
In addition, he also stressed that since the beginning of the year, the overseas agencies of Kazakhstan held about 140 meetings with foreign companies and identified 128 projects for implementation.
