The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reports UzA.uz.

It was emphasized that friendship, mutual trust and strategic partnership between the two countries are intensively developing and strengthening in all areas, including in political, trade-economic and investment spheres.

In addition, it was noted with satisfaction that bilateral trade turnover increased by 30 percent in four months of 2019, and the number of joint ventures doubled over the past year and a half.

The need for careful preparation for the first meeting of Uzbekistan – Turkey Strategic Cooperation Council of the highest level was noted. For this purpose, the parties agreed to hold meetings of working groups led by Foreign Ministers and a regular meeting of Joint Intergovernmental Commission in the near future.

Besides, current issues of international and regional agenda were also discussed during the conversation.
