Uzbekistan has become a leader in the import of Kazakh wheat, the UzTAG reports.
As noted, for the first quarter of 2019, Uzbekistan imported 622.9 thousand tons of wheat from Kazakhstan for $ 96.3 million. The top three also includes Tajikistan, which bought 252.5 thousand tons of grain for $ 46.4 million, and Azerbaijan with 195.4 thousand tons for $ 37 million.
Then came Afghanistan (106.1 thousand tons of grain for $ 19.5 million), China (83.4 thousand tons for $ 16.9 million), Turkmenistan (79.1 thousand tons for $ 14.2 million), Italy ( 71.5 thousand tons for $ 13.9 million), Turkey (70.6 thousand tons for $ 11.9 million) and Russia (53.1 thousand tons for $ 11.4 million).
In addition, for the first quarter of this year, Kazakhstan sold 419.4 thousand tons of flour for $ 89.2 million. The main buyers of the goods were Afghanistan (261.9 thousand tons for $ 58.2 million) and Uzbekistan (104.6 thousand tons by $ 18.4 million).
