Uzbekistan has banned the sale of drugs containing fenspiride, reports the Ministry of Health of the country.
The use of this substance can adversely affect the cardiovascular system. In particular, it can cause a heart rhythm disorder, as well as lead to cardiac arrest. According to the World Health Organization Center, there are about 600 reports of side effects on fenspiride.
“By the decision of the expert council (...) of the registration certificate for these drugs, medical devices and medical equipment permitted for use in medical practice in Uzbekistan are excluded from the register of medicines,” the statement reads.
As noted, a decision was made to revoke registration certificates for Erespal preparations (80 mg coated tablets), Erespal (150 ml syrup) and Siresp (2 mg / ml syrup 150 ml).
