Permanent representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Republic of Tanzania to the UN, Kairat Umarov and Modest Jonathan Mero, signed a joint communique in New York on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The signed document provides the basis for the development of bilateral relations.
During the signing ceremony, permanent representatives of Kazakhstan and Tanzania expressed interest in establishing cooperation in various sectors of the economy and beginning a substantive discussion on the prospects for bilateral partnerships. Modest Jonathan Mero spoke about the current socio-economic development of the country and ongoing major infrastructure projects.
In the framework of multilateral cooperation, the two sides noted the similarity of positions on many issues on the UN agenda, including in the field of combating terrorism, the reform of the UN and the implementation of sustainable development goals. It was agreed to increase cooperation in these and other areas, and provide mutual support within international organizations.
