Tajik MFA: Information websites are blocked for security purposes

Information websites in Tajikistan are blocked for security purposes, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Sirodjiddin Muhriddin.

According to him, such restrictions are introduced in order to preserve stability in the country, since previously in Tajikistan, the wrong ideology was often promoted.

“After that, we learned a lot. Information is a powerful tool that can do a lot. In order to regulate these processes, in order to educate our citizens in the spirit of patriotism, some sites are sometimes blocked”, -said the minister.

In Tajikistan, they often also restrict access to social networks and instant messengers. At the beginning of this year, Facebook, Instagram, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki were blocked, as well as several news portals.
