Kazakhstan intends to invest in Zimbabwe’s space program, reports Space in Africa.
According to the editin, such plans were discussed on January 21 at a business lunch in Astana, hosted by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan. The organization invited President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is on a visit to Kazakhstan, to the event. The head of the African state spoke about the opportunities offered by Zimbabwe and discussed potential joint projects with representatives of Kazakhstan’s business circles and government agencies.
The visit of the President of Zimbabwe to Kazakhstan was the first in the history of relations between the two countries. During negotiations with Emmerson Mnangagvaya, President of the Central Asian Republic Nursultan Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan and Zimbabwe are similar in that both countries are rich in mineral resources and various minerals and are ready to develop cooperation in this area. In turn, Mnangagwa expressed admiration for the economic success Kazakhstan has achieved over the years of independence, and said that Zimbabwe intends to go the same way.
