The ceremony of handing over military-technical assistance from Russia to Kyrgyzstan hold in Bishkek with the participation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
From the Russian side, the ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Andrei Krutko and representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, who announced the completion of the second stage of the implementation of the agreement between the two governments on March 31, 2015.
“In connection with the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the EAEU, the Russian Federation began to implement a program of financial and technical assistance to the republic to strengthen the external border of the EAEU, that is, Kyrgyzstan joined the EAEU, and its borders with the People’s Republic of China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan became border of this union. Today we are completing the transfer of equipment for the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will be used to equip this technical area,” he informed.
Advisor to the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Semenov, added that earlier in 2018, 11 border outposts were equipped, and to date 125 units of automotive and engineering equipment have been delivered, which will be fully used at border outposts.
