The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft order "On some issues of the supply of petroleum products to the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Russian Federation", which provides for a three-month ban on the import of gasoline by rail from Russia, the press service of Ministry reports.

"To impose a ban for a period of three months on the import of gasoline by rail from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan," the document says. The Department of Oil Industry Development of the Ministry of Energy will be instructed to notify the Border Service.

The draft order will be coordinated with the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development and the Minister of Finance.

A similar ban on the import of gasoline from the Russian Federation has already been introduced since August 25, 2018.
The Ministry of Energy reported that Kazakhstan currently produces enough gasoline for its own needs.
