The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed to deal with the prohibitions on photography, reports the news agency UzA.

Uzbek President says about in his decree "On measures for the additional development of the tourism industry". The assignment is addressed to the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defense, the border troops, and other interested agencies. So, they should approve the list of objects, places and territories where photography and video are prohibited by February 1.

When the list is approved, regional administrations will need to install appropriate signposts to ban shooting in several foreign languages. Works must be completed before March 1, 2019. "At the same time, in the absence of pointers, photography and video shooting is carried out without any restrictions", -says  in the decree.

Generally, obstacle photo and video filming by the authorities is a common problem in Uzbekistan. A policeman may approach a person with a camera and demand to remove materials, referring to a certain list of secret objects that are supposedly forbidden to be removed. Guides to the country are advised to be careful when photographing administrative buildings, highways, and not to photograph the security forces.
