The volume of coal production in Tajikistan by the beginning of December 2018 amounted to over 1.7 million tons. According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the country, by this time coal production amounted to more than 1 million 734.8 thousand tons, reports Avesta agency.

The country produces coal and lignite. The most produced coal, the volume of production of which during this period amounted to more than 1.6 million tons.

According to the source, about 20 domestic and foreign companies are engaged in coal mining and production at 14 deposits.

More than half of the total volume of coal produced in the country is accounted for by the Fon-Yagnob enterprise. Earlier it was reported that coal production in Tajikistan according to the results of 2018 is planned to reach 2 million tons.
