Constitution of Kyrgyzstan will not be changed. This was announced by the President Sooronbay Zheenbekov at the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Supreme Council.

“The parliament is criticized and this is normal. Questions are raised on amending the Constitution, amendments to the electoral legislation, the introduction of the institute kurultai. The constitution has changed 10 times in 25 years. There were votes for not being amended until 2020, but despite this, in 2016 it was changed again. Therefore, taking into account the will of the people, I believe that there is no need to amend the Constitution by 2020. The thing is not in the Constitution, but in respect for the laws. Now there are other pressing issues, such as economic development, the fight against corruption”, - noted Jeenbekov.

Recal, it should be noted that a scientific-practical conference devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Kyrgyz parliament is held in Bishkek. The event is attended by state leaders led by President Sooronbay Zheenbekov, deputies of the current and past convocations of the Supreme Council.
