“The experts of International SOS and Control Risks compiled a map with risk assessments for tourists for 2019. Uzbekistan is recognized as the safest country in Central Asia to travel,” reads a statement.

It is noted that the level of threats to tourists here is quite low, the same as in most EU countries.

But at the same time, Fergana Valley is ranked as a category with a “high level of danger.” This category includes countries or particular regions where, according to experts, mass anti-government demonstrations are possible, during which protesters may attack foreigners, either a high crime rate or ethnic or religious clashes are possible. In addition, a “high level of danger” for travelers exists in areas bordering Afghanistan with Surkhandarya region.
