Humanitarian aid to 57 countries of the world with a total weight of more than 20 thousand tons has been provided to Tajikistan by almost $ 39 million, the Statistics Agency under the President of Tajikistan reports.

“The main donors of Tajikistan in January-October of this year were India (16.2%) and Russia (15.6%). The two countries account for almost about one third of the total amount of aid,” the message reads.

The fifth part of aid falls on Switzerland and China, whose share in the total volume is 11.2% and 11.1%, respectively.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan was almost halved: in January-October 2017, the country received such assistance totaling more than $ 65.1 million. At the same time, the number of donor countries last year was less - 51 countries of the world. Last year more than half of humanitarian aid fell on China (33.6%) and Russia (19.2%).
