The total amount of Tajikistan’s foreign debt at the beginning of October this year was $ 2 billion 873.8 million, the country’s statistics agency reports.
“About 35% of Tajikistan’s foreign debt falls on China’s Eximbank, to which the republic owed $ 1.2 billion,” the message reads.
Also, a large amount of debt in the amount of $ 500 million was formed through the sale of government securities in international markets.
According to the Ministry of Finance, in comparison with the figures for the beginning of this year, the size of external debt decreased by $ 5.2 million. By the beginning of January of this year, the total amount of external debt amounted to $ 2 billion 879 million, and amounted to 40.3%. In the budget of the current year, it is planned to allocate $ 125 million for servicing foreign debt.
