Over 237.6 thousand tons of cotton has been collected in Tajikistan as of October 22 since the beginning of the cotton-harvesting season, reports the press center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the country.
"This figure is 56.6% of the projected plan," the message reads. As of October 22, cotton growers in Khatlon oblast collected over 143.8 thousand tons of cotton, which is 52.3% of the forecast figure for the current year.
More than 86 thousand tons (66.9%) and 7.7 thousand tons (47%) were collected in Sughd region and areas of republican subordination, respectively. Closer to the fulfillment of the projected plan among the cotton-growing areas are Bokhtar -97.9% and Levakand-92.2%. Cotton this year in Tajikistan has been planted on an area of 185 thousand 817 hectares.
