Kyrgyz deputy proposed to allow Kyrgyz citizens to have several citizenships

The deputy of Kyrgyz Parliamentary, Akylbek Zhaparov has proposed introducing a multiple citizenship in Kyrgyzstan so that citizens of Kyrgyzstan are able to get citizenship of several countries.

"People can get citizenship of 8 or 10 countries, but they do not lose citizenship of their own country. For instance, citizens of Israel have an opportunity to do it, because Israel allows it. However, it is different in Kyrgyzstan. If citizens of Kyrgyzstan get citizenship of different country then they lose citizenship of their own country", - noted Akylbek Zhaparov.

The laws of Kyrgyzstan do not allow to get other countries' citizenship to Kyrgyz people. If they get another country's citizenship, then it is necessary to refuse a passport of the Kyrgyz Republic.
